Der Durchmesser ist ca. 50m, er ist mit
feuchtem Sand gefüllt, der begehbar ist.
In den Rand geschlagene Fußstapfen
erleichtern den Abstieg.

The diameter is approx. 150 feet, it is equipped with
wet sand, which is walkable.
Footsteps in the edge facilitate the descent.

Anfahrt

Von Escalante aus Hwy. 12 ca. 10 mi Richtung Boulder.
Rechts der Straße stehen grüne Meilen-Pfosten.
Direkt nach dem Pfosten 70,
unmittelbar vor einem „Cattle Guard“,
geht rechts eine unbefestigte Straße ab:
die Old Sheffield Road,
die auch Spencer Flat Road heißt.

Dieser Straße folgt man kurvig durch die Felsen.
Nach ca. 6 Meilen geht es mit einer Rechtskurve
hinab in die Spencer Flat.
Von da sind es noch ca. 2 mi bis zum Trailhead

Directions

From Escalante off Hwy. 12 about 10 mi toward Boulder.
There are green mile posts on the right side of the road.
Immediately after post 70,
just before a "Cattle Guard",
a dirt road turns off to the right:
Old Sheffield Road,
also called Spencer Flat Road.

Follow this road curving through the rocks.
After about 6 miles there is a right turn down to
down into Spencer Flat.
From there it is about 2 mi to the trailhead.

Bring water - no shade!
